Second IT Architecture and Standards reference launched
The reference was launched by ADSIC at the 2nd Abu Dhabi e-Government Forum
The Abu Dhabi Systems & Information Committee (ADSIC) launched the second version of the IT Architecture and Standards reference, an achievement in the emirate's drive for modernization, at the second forum of Abu Dhabi's e-government forum held yesterday.
The first version of the reference was issued in late 2006 and formed a solid basis for Abu Dhabi in the digital field.
"The technical standards and guidelines of this version have been developed to consolidate the continuous progress achieved by the e-government in order to work in a secure and integral manner at the highest levels of performance throughout the emirate of Abu Dhabi." said His Excellency Rashed Lahej Al-Mansouri, ADSIC chairman at the forum.
His Excellency Al-Mansouri added that "this progress could not have been possible without the close coordination and collaboration between all Abu Dhabi Government entities and several federal government departments at both the division and technical levels."
The Abu Dhabi Government modernization program is assigned to the ADSIC under the directions of HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. With the aim of ranking Abu Dhabi among the best five governments worldwide, the number of hits recorded by the Abu Dhabi e-government portal is reported to have exceeded 20 million in 2007.
Representatives of more than 30 government entities attended the forum that also saw the review of Abu Dhabi's e-government strategy and presentation of ongoing initiatives assigned to ADSIC.
