Nexans launches copper cabling ranges

New LANmark ranges will support 10 Gigabit and 40Gigabit applications

Cabling vendor Nexans has launched two new cabling product ranges - the LANmark 6A and 7A, which will support 10 Gigabit applications and 40 Gigabit applications respectively.

"We are happy to announce the launch of LANmark-6A and -7A in the Middle East region. The new LANmark-6A and -7A range are revolutionary concepts in copper cabling technology, which will change the way datacentre networks are built in the region," said Tarek Helmy, Nexans regional director for the Gulf & Middle East.

According to the cabling solutions provider the 6A is an ideal solution for modern datacentres, which are already facing severe space constraints with long and heavy cables, while the LANmark-7A is designed for 40 Gigabit applications and offers a capacity of up to 50 Gigabit, as well as high frequency support.

Key features of the 6A range include its three connection points within ten metres and a recently developed connector. The increased connection points will offer flexibility of use in already overcrowded datacentres. In addition it also has 360 degree screening which prevents alien crosstalk.

The 7A solution had been developed to meet the anticipated demand for 40 Gigabit solutions. LANmark-7A is easy to upgrade, allowing companies to migrate to 40 Gigabit by simply changing patch cords.
