AMD loses Middle East managing director

Gautam Srivastava leaves AMD Middle East MD and Sales & Marketing VP role

AMD has parted company with Middle East managing director and VP of sales & marketing, Guatam Srivastava, the company said today.

No reason was given for Srivastava's departure from the processor company, where he had been responsible for drastically expanding AMD's presence in the region over the past few years.

Srivastava is understood to be leaving the region to pursue opportunities in Silicon Valley.

According to a statement from AMD Alberto Macchi, Corporate Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Europe, Middle East and Africa will lead the regional sales and marketing team until a suitable replacement is appointed.

The statement added; "|Since his appointment in 2006, Gautam and his team have made significant contributions to AMD's business in the region and the company wishes him success in his future endeavours."
