DIC office to help wireless technology company to build presence in Middle East
Wireless technology company Qualcomm is expanding its presence in the Middle East, with the opening of a new office in Dubai.
The new office, in Dubai Internet City, will serve the Middle East and North Africa region, with a focus on business development, in particular in building the company's target of being a technology neutral advisor for operators in the region.
The company did not say how many staff will be based in the office, but it does plan to grow its local team, according to a statement.
Pertti Johansson, president of Qualcomm Middle East and Africa commented: "The MENA region is witnessing impressive growth in both the quantity and quality of telecommunication services. This growth has created a healthy and competitive business environment that is giving consumers increased access to wireless services at progressively lower prices. For more than twenty years, Qualcomm has provided the technical expertise and products to help its partners thrive in the global wireless communications market. Our new office in Dubai enables Qualcomm to serve the region more effectively and we are very pleased to expand our presence in this exciting market."
