Souq.com expands with Souq.com Motors

Arab Online auction marketplace now covers cars, motorbikes and boats

Popular Arabic online marketplace Souq.com has launched Souq.com Motors, allowing residents of the UAE, Jordan and Saudi Arabia to buy and sell cars, motorbikes, boats and motoring paraphernalia online.

The new site features new trading formats in addition to simply auctioning an item. The ‘Souq Direct’ option disables bidding, allowing you to generate leads by encouraging potential buyers to get in contact with you. ‘Best Offer’ allows you to receive price-based offers from potential buyers which you can accept at your discretion.

Currently listed on Souq.com Motors is car plate number E 51. Car plate number E 15 was auctioned for over AED 3 million in an auction by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority a year ago.

Ronaldo Mouchawar, CEO of Souq.com, said: “We have observed a 20% increase in traffic and listings on Souq.com Motors in the first month of its operation. This clearly demonstrates that people in this region are getting more comfortable using the net for purchasing products. Users value the pivotal role that ecommerce is already playing in the region, and we are proud to be a part of this revolutionary change as we continuously strive to be a platform that answers all the needs of buyers and sellers.”
