HP becomes latest vendor to recruit SPS in Saudi

Samir Photographic Supplies to act as Industrial Printing Solutions partner

Samir Photographic Supplies (SPS) has been unveiled as HP’s exclusive Industrial Printing Solutions partner in Saudi Arabia as part of a deal that will see the company handle all of the vendor’s Scitex industrial solutions across the Kingdom.

SPS will manage the sales for a series of wide format products, including the Scitex XL 1200, Scitex XL 1500, Scitex Grand and the new Scitex FB910. HP insists that the partnership will give Saudi-based industrial print service providers seeking volume production of durable outdoor and indoor applications access to large digital printing solutions.

“SPS has great experience in supplying imaging and printing products to niche markets and we can see how beneficial this experience will be for our portfolio of large- to super-wide printers in Saudi Arabia,” said Amr Hassan, general manager of the imaging and printer group at HP Middle East. “The Middle East is witnessing an unprecedented growth in the outdoor and indoor graphics arena and our objective is to deliver the most innovative technology and customer driven products possible.”

The partnership with HP comes at a time when SPS is rapidly expanding its portfolio. Earlier this week it was also named as Epson’s official printer distributor for the Kingdom and will market the vendor’s products through its own retail outlets as well as hypermarkets and other premium resellers.

SPS has a long history in the Saudi market, and is one of the most dominant players in the local printing industry. The company boasts more than 20 retail outlets throughout the country and employs 550 employees in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al-Khobar. As well as its core business of photography and imaging, SPS is involved in various industries through strategic agreements and partnerships.
