Change of scenery for FSC
Fujitsu Siemens is to relocate its Middle East headquarters to Dubai Silicon Oasis
Fujitsu Siemens has become the latest in a growing list of companies to shift its regional operations to Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO). The PC vendor, which formerly served the Middle East market from its headquarters in Dubai Internet City, insists the move affords it additional space and access to better infrastructure.
More than 30 staff are understood to have transferred to the new office at DSO - a government-owned entity that aims to act as a hub for companies in the technology sector and in particular those with a focus on outsourcing and R&D.
"Our relocation to Dubai Silicon Oasis is part of Fujitsu Siemens Computers' regional expansion plans," proclaimed Tom Sieber, executive VP of sales at Fujitsu Siemens. "This new facility will serve as our Middle East headquarters and provide better infrastructure as we continue to grow our business and push the boundaries of innovation. Access to world-class facilities makes it the ideal location to better serve our customers and business partners," he added.
FSC joins a number of other IT companies that have set up base at DSO including German security distribution outfit ComputerLinks, which acquired Fusion Distribution last year. Networking reseller CNS also recently announced plans to open a new HQ at the free zone.
