CBD improves its application processes

Bank improves network management and credit scoring.

Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) has made two major investments in technology to improve network management and credit risk scoring.

CBD has selected PIC Solutions to develop application scorecards for its credit card and personal loan portfolios, helping its decision-making processes.

PIC Solutions will provide consulting services to ensure the successful implementation of its new application scorecards.

Jamal Saleh, head of risk management at CBD, said: "Meeting our objectives and improving our customer service is an important target for CBD and we are focused on enhancing our business processes and policies. CBD has a number of initiatives planned to maximise the efficiency and value of our credit card and loan portfolios and we plan to use these new application scorecards to enhance our credit decisioning process and minimise our business risk."

Ian Read, general manager of the Middle East region at PIC Solutions, added: "More organisations are realising the importance of implementing accurate credit scoring solutions to improve their application decisions and reduce their credit risk exposure. These application scorecards are designed to streamline CBD's decisions by accurately assessing their credit applications."

CBD has also selected LANDesk Patch Manager to secure its IT environment.

LANDesk Patch Manager is a subscription service that automates vulnerability assessment and patch management across heterogenous IT environments, helping to establish and maintain baseline security, stability and performance for applications and operating systems.

The solution was implemented at CBD by Intertec Systems, a partner for LANDesk Software in the Middle East region.

Vishal Singh, pre-sales consultant, LANDesk Software, said: "About 1500 employees in the different branches spread across the UAE log on to Commercial Bank of Dubai's core banking system. The bank's biggest challenge was managing security and software patches. With the implementation of LANDesk Patch Manager, it is now possible to control the needs of all the systems from a single console. What used to be an exercise spread over weeks, patch management now is a process that can be completed in few minutes."
