Prince Alwaleed bin Talal and John Chambers discuss collaboration between Rotana Audio Visual and Cisco on new multimedia delivery platforms
HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal and John Chambers discuss collaboration between Rotana Audio Visual and Cisco on new multimedia content delivery , chairman of Rotana Audiovisual and chairman of Kingdom Holding Company and John Chambers, chairman and CEO of Cisco, met today in Riyadh to discuss using Cisco technology to deliver new multimedia content and services.
Rotana Audio Visual, the world's largest producer and distributor of Arabic music, movies and TV is collaborating with Cisco on using Cisco's Content Delivery System and IPTV architectures to deliver it content to new audiences and to develop new services such as high definition, targeted advertising and integrated communications.
Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal said: "Our collaboration with Cisco today comes in line with our expansion strategy and furthers our leadership in the entertainment industry. Working closely with Cisco, Rotana will be able to tap into new markets and communities. Furthermore, with Cisco's Telepresence, we could introduce unprecedented entertainment experiences and bring Rotana live-like concerts to several geographic locations at the same time."

During his visit to the region, Chambers also met Sheikh Ibrahim M. Alissa of Madinah Knowledge Economic City (KEC) to finalize the details of Cisco’s collaboration with the Madinah Knowledge Economic City project. Under that agreement , Cisco will provide network infrastructure for the five-million-square-meter development, using elements of its Connected Real Estate initiative.
