Menezes renews acquaintances with Almasa
Former Samsung printer exec rejoins distribution house
IT distributor Almasa has strengthened its management team by naming former Samsung Gulf printer chief Lancy Menezes as the deputy general manager of its HP-focused imaging and printing business unit.
Menezes - who is well aware of Almasa's business model having worked at the company for four years until joining Samsung in 2005 - will be responsible for the development of the IPG business in the region, with special emphasis on the Saudi, Kuwaiti and Egyptian markets.
"Our IPG business has been growing and we needed a team player like Menezes who understands Almasa's ethics to head this division to ensure that our channel partners continue to receive the high level of expertise and support they are used to getting from us," said Frank Sheu, CEO at Almasa.
Menezes isn't the only new face to arrive at Almasa over the New Year period. The Dubai-based company has also confirmed the appointment of distribution veteran Radwan Basheer as the boss of its year-old Riyadh operation. Basheer is well known in Saudi distribution circles following spells at Al-Jammaz and Aptec.
Basheer will be responsible for furthering Almasa's proposition in Saudi Arabia, where the distributor already enjoys local relationships with vendor partners such as Acer, AMD, Avaya, HP, Seagate and ViewSonic.
According to Sheu, Basheer's appointment will be preceded by further investment in the Saudi market in terms of increased facilities, people and infrastructure.
