NetApp appoints Aptec as MEA distributor

Aptec to carry full range of NetApp storage hardware and software

Dubai-based Aptec has been appointed to distribute and sell the entire range of NetApp's storage hardware and software. The partnership, for the Middle East and Africa region, will also see Aptec carry NetApp's latest entry-level storage system, the FAS2000. In addition to the distribution of the vendor's products across its 5,000 strong reseller base, Aptec has also been brought on board to offer value-added services.

Wilson Xavier, business unit software manager at Aptec, says data volumes in the MEA region are growing dramatically and this has led to an increasing need for companies to invest in solutions for their IT infrastructure. "At the same time complexity is a pain point for enterprises in terms of cost, management and staffing," he said. "By introducing NetApp into our portfolio, we are able to address these pain points effectively," he added.

"The simple but powerful NetApp data management solutions for complex enterprise needs, coupled with a scalable unified platform to grow alongside customers' growing demands, guarantee an excellent return on investment and low TCO," Xavier added.

According to Martyn Molnar, regional area director MENA at NetApp, Aptec's strong local presence and experience of distributing A-brand vendors made it the ideal choice for the vendor to partner with. "Just like NetApp, Aptec places great value on selling solutions and services rather than just boxes. This concept has enabled them to create true value for the channel and gain broad customer reach into this vast region," said Molnar.

Aptec focuses on networking, software, hardware, PC components and telecommunication products. It works in up to 70 countries across the region and has offices in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Lebanon and Turkey.
