Etisalat bites back in charge card war of words

Etisalat extends 10% extra credit offer, says non-expiring credit offers customer reassurance

Following the roll-out of du's WoW charge card scheme yesterday, Etisalat has announced that it is making its Ramadan offer of 10% extra credit a permanent feature.

Etisalat pre-paid users will gain 10% extra credit on all recharges of 100dhs or over, only through etisalat's website, mobile payment service, Auto-pay service, and at selected banks and Emirates Post locations.

du announced yesterday that its users would now have the option of 20% extra credit on recharges made with charge cards of 20dhs value and over, but with an expiry date set for the credit. The Etisalat offer does not have any time limitation on its use.

Khalifa Al Shamsi, vice president of marketing, consumer and SMB at Etisalat commented: "We always seek to invest in long-term relationships with our customers to provide them with the greatest benefits and best services. Since the beginning, we have assured that all our customers' recharged Wasel accounts - and the additional credit they gain from various promotions - are valid for the lifetime of the account and not restricted to any set period of time. We are committed to meeting the needs of our customers not just today but across the full lifetime of our relationship."

"This is so our customers feel complete comfort and relief when making calls and not forcing them to consume their credit in a restricted period," Al Shamsi added.

Etisalat launched a promotion during Ramadan that enables pre-paid Wasel mobile customers to get 10% extra credit on recharges of AED 100 or more. In addition, customers who buy a new Wasel pre-paid SIM card for the value of AED 165 get AED 65 of free credit.

Etisalat claims to have the broadest payment and credit recharge options in the country; with no less than seven different payment options including scratch cards and eVouchers.
