ECQ recruits new chief technical officer

Ahmad Al-Abdulla takes over from Khalid Al Khudayri as CTO.

Energy City Qatar, the $2.6 billion business hub under development, has appointed Ahmad Al-Abdulla as its new chief technical officer. Al-Abdulla, who began as CTO approximately one month ago, takes over from Khalid Al Khudayri, who is no longer with the company.

The appointment is the second major management change since the ECQ project officially began in March 2006.

Hisham Al-Emadi took over from Bob Moore in the role of CEO in May this year.

Part of the new city development in Lusail, located about 15km north of Doha, Energy City Qatar is expected to provide office buildings for 20,000 people and residential buildings for 10,000 people.

The infrastructure for the development should be finished by April 2009 with the overall development slated to be ready by mid-2012.
