Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In addition to modules from SAP, Wipro, together with its local partner Dar Al Riyadh, is to implement IS-oil and production planning.

A joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemicals, Petro Rabigh is one of the largest integrated refineries in KSA.

The complex, currently under development, is expected to start commercial operations mid 2008.

"This is a watershed project in the region given its comprehensive scope of SAP IS-Oil and integration of SAP suite with plant automation systems," Mohammed Bin Turki Al Saud, group director at the Dar Al Riyadh Group, commented.
