ESET opens options for retail renewal in Middle East

Antivirus provider ESET has launched its NOD32 renewal retail pack in the Middle East. The vendor is offering purchase renewals for the software to its customers through the its retailer network.

Antivirus provider ESET has launched its NOD32 renewal retail pack in the Middle East. The vendor is offering purchase renewals for the software to its customers through the its retailer network.

“The new NOD32 renewal retail pack will benefit both our customers and our channel partners,” claims Neo Neophytou, managing director, ESET Distribution Middle East. “The NOD32 renewal retail pack will now offer the user an alternative option for renewal where he can buy the pack from a retailer," he explained.

Previously, NOD32 users could only renew their subscription online by credit card. As the subscription would approach expiration, the user would receive a warning prompting him to renew online. However, a user that did not wish to renew online would have to opt for a full first year retail pack from a retailer.

ESET claims that market trends show that not all users in the Middle East have credit cards and those that do, are still uncomfortable to use it online due to security issues. “Hence we decided to offer them the renewal pack option where they could buy it directly from a retailer,” said Neophytou. “The NOD32 renewal retail pack will be available at all our dealers and distributors and is priced 30% lower than the first year licence fee. This new introduction will also benefit our distributors and retail partners who have been instrumental in our success by providing them a share of the revenues from renewal pack sales which was not available to them before,” he added.

The NOD32 renewal retail pack is targeted at NOD32 home users and small business users, to renew their existing ESET NOD32 licences.
