Eten reveals its slimmest PC mobile

Taiwanese PC phone specialist Eten, along with its partner in the Middle East, Samir Digital Technology, has unveiled its latest super-thin PC phone.

ETEN, a Taiwanese vendor of hand held devices such as mobile phones and pocket PCs, has released details of its plans for the pocket PC phone market, at GITEX.

Eten gave visitors at GITEX a preview of its latest pocket PC phone, the glofiish X500, which features a new case design that it considerably thinner than that of existing models. While previous Eten pocket PC phones featured GPRS, allowing users to access the Internet, and other data services wirelessly, the glofiish X500 features improved Wi-Fi capabilities, and the ability to combine GPS and Wi-Fi capabilities in a single device.

Wayne Ma, president, Eten, said the company is launching the phone in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East and that he expects to see the company increase its market share with the launch of the phone. "We are one of the top-5 pocket phone vendors in the world," Ma said. "Most important is the thickness, because we manage to be only 15.5 mm thick."

Samir Digital Technology, which is master distributor of Eten pocket PC phones in the Middle East and North Africa, is equally optimistic about the future of Eten’s products. "Eten pocket PC phones have excellent features and a commitment to quality," said Noor Al-Dein Masoud, marketing executive at Samir Digital Technology.

"We think the product range will be well accepted by customers in the Middle East, especially with the new launching of X500 GloFiish - the very first product to have all features."
