Microsoft touts PRB potential

Do you have a People Ready Business (PRB)? If not, the Microsoft stand is the place to go at this year’s GITEX as the software giant showcases its new philosophy that puts employees first and boosts overall business flexibility.

Ali Faramawy, VP EMEA at Microsoft, explains the concept: “In today’s competitive world organisations need to come up with strategies that differentiate themselves in the market. This is the only way to retain customers and also attract new customers and that is through operational excellence — this is what PRB is all about.”

Rather than focusing on specific products, Microsoft is promoting ‘People Ready’ as an overall philosophy of business success, claiming that an organization is best empowered to grow and succeed when it recognizes that its people are its most important asset and empowers them with the right tools and technologies.

“We are meeting customers this week to discuss the PRB vision with them,” added Faramawy. “This is all about allowing people to play the role in the organisation that they were recruited for. Companies want to drive innovation without creating confusion. At the same time companies need to build systems that allow for smooth information flow but not information overflow.”

Faramawy claims that visitors to Microsoft’s stand have readily embraced PRB. “Companies now realise the importance of their people. They also know that merely implementing what they have seen in a case study does not ensure success. We are dedicated to empowering the individual and can work with organisations every step of the way as they move towards this goal.”

Microsoft is working hard with its Middle East partners to introduce PRB in the Middle East. As well as large enterprises, Microsoft is also targeting governments, as citizens begin to demand better services and faster response times. According to Microsoft, PRB is the answer that allows governments to meet citizens’ demand.
