Empost at GITEX 2006

Empost showcased its range of local and international courier services at GITEX 2006.

Empost, the UAE's national courier company, showcased its range of local and international courier services at GITEX 2006.

Under the Umbrella of Emirates Post, the Empost stand was located at Hall 7, stand B7-1.

"GITEX 2006 was an ideal platform for us to promote our services to the growing IT sector in the region and rest of the world. Every year a huge number of business deals are finalised during this exhibition, requiring the services of a speedy and reliable courier service to transfer documents or product samples and to provide other urgent logistics services. A dedicated team was assigned to cater to the demand for our courier services during the exhibition," said Sultan Al Midfa, CEO of Empost.

The company recently invested AED 6 million in installing an advanced IT and communication infrastructure. Under the communications upgrade plan, Empost courier vehicles will be equipped with the latest in wireless communication technologies such as the mobile data service, GPRS (General Packet Radio Service); the satellite-based navigation system, GPS (Global Positioning System); messaging and tracking systems.

"We have been entering into strategic alliances with various ministries, government departments, diplomatic missions and private organisations, and now we are targeting the private sector, especially the IT companies," added Al Midfa. "With a team of specialised staff members and world-class logistics capabilities, we are fully geared to meet the different courier and logistics needs of our clients."
