i-mate shows local class

Mobile device vendor i-mate is pulling in the crowds with its powerful ‘innovation in mobility’ message at this year’s GITEX.

Mobile device vendor i-mate is pulling in the crowds with its powerful ‘innovation in mobility’ message at this year’s GITEX. Not content with showcasing new products such as the i-mate JAQ3, which is making its global debut at this year’s show, the Dubai-based outfit is also highlighting a range of innovative accessories.

“We have a complete range of devices that suit the needs of every user – be they business or consumer,” claims Jim Morrison, founder and CEO at 240-strong i-mate. “We now have fantastic accessories as well such as a digital picture frame that allows you to send images from your phone. This is one of the first Windows Vista-certified accessories available.”

i-mate is also pushing the technology envelope in the business market. “i-mate has great software that allows the devices to be managed the way that the IT manager wants to — as if they were a notebook. We offer complete remote device management.”

Morrison and the i-mate team remain totally committed to the Middle East market. “I was asked three months ago in London why the company is based in Dubai,” adds Morrison. “I told them it was the same reason we have always been here: Dubai is a great place to do business. i-mate is now known as a Dubai company and we are the poster boys for Dubai Internet City.”

“We arrived here as a small company, have grown rapidly and are now exporting cutting-edge technology and solutions around the world from our Dubai base. Many people in this region choose to purchase an i-mate device because we are perceived as a local company,” concludes Morrison.
