Dutch firm gets nod for Porsche

Dubai Properties has commissioned Netherlands-based Office for Metropolitan Architecture to design the ‘Porsche’ Tower in Business Bay

Dubai Properties has commissioned Netherlands-based Office for Metropolitan Architecture to design the ‘Porsche’ Tower in Business Bay.

Porsche Design will work with the architect on the 85,000m2 office tower and 30,000m2 residential tower.
The office tower will be designed to limit solar gain; it will be framed by side wings and an overlap to create its own shadow.

The residential tower will be cylindrical with an interior atrium that will rise the entire height of the structure.

Porsche Design Studio will work with OMA as a consultant. While OMA will be responsible for the design of both buildings, Porsche Design Studio will have a consulting role for the outside architecture.

Construction Week revealed plans for the tower in August.
