Professionals involved in the region’s food and beverage sector will converge on Dubai in November for the first Middle East Food & Beverage Forum. The event, which is taking place at Dubai’s Dusit hotel on November 26 to 30, will include workshops, discussion groups and talks by keynote speakers, such as ACNielsen’s Piyush Mathur.
The event will focus on global trends in the food and beverage sector and their influence on the sector in the Middle East. Among the topics that will be explored during the event are: market research tools and techniques; packaging solutions; ensuring food safety, and developing export market strategies.
Guest speakers at the event will include high profile people from the regional and international food and beverage industry, including Bryan Urbick, founding partner, CEO and president, Consumer Knowledge Centre and KidsLink Research Ltd; Piyush Mathur, managing director, ACNielsen UAE; and Harish Chauhan, CEO, Business by Philosophy Corporation, Canada.
Harish Chauhan will be running a workshop focused on branding, which he views as one of the most lucrative ways of building brand value. The workshop is intended to help attendees learn how to use branding to differentiate their products from those of competitors and create positive consumer perceptions of their brands.
Taoufik Mathlouthi, chairman and founder of Mecca Cola, will run a workshop focusing on how local companies can compete with large multinational players. He will discuss topics such as globalisation versus regionalisation, and why some international trends are better suited to the Middle East than others.
