Amadeus drives hotel revenues

Hotels around the world are cashing in by adopting integrated property and revenue management systems, according to Amadeus.

The GDS operator has seen a rapid jump in the number of hotels adopting its Amadeus Hotel Revenue Management System (RMS), with more than 300 properties implementing the system since January.

Amadeus claims the solution gives hotel chains and individual properties the information they need to charge the right price to the right customer at the right time, and states that: “Hotels implementing the solution typically see revenue increase by at least 4% to 8%.”

As hotel chains move towards greater accounting transparency, the challenge is on for hotels revenue managers to be able to match the right price with the right client or corporate account. In order to achieve this, more hotels are now looking at revenue management systems, like the one provided by Amadeus. Accor, Golden Tulip, Le Meridien, Jolly Hotels and Park Plaza have increased their adoption of Amadeus Hotel RMS this year.

“Revenue management is a key part of Amadeus’ IT offer to the hospitality industry,” said Antoine Medawar, MD, Amadeus Hospitality Business Group.

“More hotels are recognising the need for an integrated set of solutions in which property and revenue management systems work seamlessly together with central reservation and distribution solutions. This is the Amadeus proposition.”
