The global launch of Focus Softnet’s Dot Net ERP solution will take place at Gitex 2006. The software company, which is headquartered in India and has offices throughout the GCC, will unveil the latest version of its ERP solution — Focus RT — which uses .Net technology.

This means that it will be web-based, allowing users to access applications online and increase the ability to view data from the system. It will also feature enhanced dashboard features for users that will provide data tailored to their needs and the department they are working in.

Ali Hyder, CEO at Focus Softnet, explains some of the key advantages of the .Net technology for its latest ERP system. “.Net allows multiple advantages — one is that you can access the applications over the internet. It also offers a powerful dashboard facility wherein users can control their desktop to receive the information they want — based on what department they work in. And you can also restrict users based on departmental needs so it is a modular solution but fully secured for certain departments only to view the data.”

He described it as particularly beneficial for those working in the manufacturing segment as those involved in production can see the production status of different batches online and the same information can be accessed by customers who can check the status of their deliveries. Gitex, Hyder believes, is the perfect opportunity for the worldwide launch of this product, given the fact that so many international visitors will be present at the event.

“The Middle East market has been growing at a rapid pace and most companies want to take advantage of this phenomenal growth,” says Hyder. “Gitex, being the largest IT exhibition in the Middle East, is a powerful forum that attracts international visitors and participants from across the globe. It is therefore the ideal platform for us to launch the Dot Net version of our ERP — Focus RT.”
