Mitel to unveil new solutions at Gitex

Converged communications provider Mitel is preparing for a busy Gitex, with the vendor set to unveil a host of new systems.

Converged communications provider Mitel is preparing for a busy Gitex, with the vendor set to unveil a host of new systems.

“We anticipate a very hectic Gitex, particularly with our new Mitel 3600 hosted key system, as well as our IP hospitality solutions, applications, not to mention the demonstration of our call centre applications and related CRM suite,” says Hisham Amili, general manager for Mitel in the GCC.

The 3600 hosted key system is designed to provide small to medium businesses with the benefits of IP telephony without the expense of deploying switches and telephony equipment at the premises.

The system relies on the telecoms provider’s systems to handle call routing, thus allowing customers to expand their telephony systems as they grow, without having to invest in additional equipment.

Regional telcos have already shown considerable interest in the 3600 system; in September, the UAE’s Etisalat agreed to deploy the solution, as part of its plans to move to an all-IP network.

“These business solutions from Mitel will improve call-handling and reduce network management costs resulting in enhanced customer service and business processes. It will also bring convenience and lower operating costs,” commented Essa Al Haddad, Etisalat’s chief marketing officer (CMO), at the time of the announcement.
