Trend Micro plays ‘IT’ safe

Network antivirus and internet content security software and services vendor Trend Micro is gearing up for a hectic Gitex.

Network antivirus and internet content security software and services vendor Trend Micro is gearing up for a hectic Gitex.

Justin Doo, regional director at Trend Micro Middle East and North Africa, says: “Trend Micro will formally launch a range of gateway appliances at Gitex building on our best-of-breed status and market dominance at the internet gateway level.”

Education will also take centre stage at Gitex alongside security as a hot topic in the Middle East IT market. In its ongoing-bid to raise the region’s IT and management skills set and boost business efficiency, New Horizons Computer Learning Centres Dubai is again scheduling several Gitex launches.

Wassim Hamadah, country marketing manager, New Horizons, Dubai, explains: “We have been launching new training solutions every year based on the requirements of the market.”

Wireless and internet access kit vendor Netgear is also planning to make some serious noise at Gitex 2006. The company put in a strong performance at Gitex Saudi Arabia earlier this year and will be looking for a repeat performance at Gitex Dubai.

Regional channel manager Ahmed Zeidan has embarked upon an aggressive channel recruitment drive in the Middle East and will look to build on that momentum during Gitex 2006.
