Juniper prepares to promote IP solutions

Juniper Networks will focus on converged services and multimedia IP-based solutions at this year’s GulfComms.

“The difference for us from a location point of view, the reason we agreed to move to the GulfComms area, is that it fits better with the culture and heritage of our way of doing business with service providers,” says Mohamad Abdul-Malak, regional director for Juniper MEA.

Nortel will also be making its presence felt this November at GulfComms with a new president for its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operation.

Darryl Edwards, a 14-year veteran at the communications solutions leader, was handed the post in August and this event will no doubt be a good opportunity for him to show his commitment to the region.

Appearing at this year’s GulfComms event, Nortel will be riding on the back of its recent local success. In August it signed an extensive deal, together with a local integrator, with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to provide a new converged voice and data network.

eHosting DataFort is also lined up to appear at this year’s GulfComms and ready to show that a great deal can happen in a year, as a visit to the stand of the managed hosting and IT security services specialist will quickly prove.

Since last year’s Gitex, the Dubai-based outsourcer has gone global. The company now has a presence not only in the Gulf region, the Middle East, Africa and the Indian subcontinent, but also in Europe and the US via a partnership with Interoute, owner of Europe’s most advanced next-generation voice and data network.

Extreme Networks is also set to have a busy time at this year’s GulfComms. “We have several aims for this year’s show,” explains Chris Moore, MEA director at Extreme.

“This includes launching the BlackDiamond carrier Ethernet solution at the show. Extreme solves tough networking problems, and that’s the market that we are aiming for in the Middle East region,” he adds.
