Due to popular demand from our readers, the judges of the IT Weekly Arab Technology Awards 2006 have decided to extend the nomination deadline for the first stage of the voting process for the awards until Thursday 12th October. The IT Weekly Arab Technology Awards 2006 are designed to recognise and reward the people, products and companies that have contributed to the region’s ICT development. As with last year’s show, the award winners will be honoured at a special event taking place on Sunday, 19 November — the second night of Gitex — at the Habtoor Grand, Dubai. Voted by IT readers, the awards recognise outstanding performance in 15 key areas of the information and communication technology industry. These awards are organised into four main categories: hardware, software, infrastructure and services. Voting takes place in a two-stage process: a first stage which closes on Thursday 12th October 2006 and the second stage, which closes on 31st October. Further details on the awards — and how to vote on them — can be found on the ITP Business website, under the address below. Enter www.itp.net/arabtechnologyawards in your browser to find out more.
