Qatar Cool has won a contract to provide 120,000TR to the Pearl-Qatar.

The US $236 million (QR860 million) scheme involves the design, build and operation of one of the world’s largest single district cooling plants.

The agreement with private shareholding firm United Development Company (UDC) will see Qatar Cool provide chilled water to residential and commercial buildings in the island development in a metered and controlled process.

Qatar Cool recently began operation of its first district cooling facility, a 30,000TR plant in the West Bay district of Doha. It is currently developing a second plant that will provide an additional 37,000TR to the area.
