Celebrity workout from Power-Plate

Power-Plate Middle East is bringing the benefits of low-impact vibration technology to the Middle East.

The new fitness trend, which is effective for both weight-loss and fitness, is finding favour among many A-list celebrities and uses the g-force to increase circulation in the body’s lymphatic system.

Fitness fanatics can now try out the devices at the Power-Plate Centre in Dubai, as well as in a number of hotels around the region, including the Rotana Hotel in Doha, Al Khobar's Sunset Beach Resort, the InterContinental Phoenicia in Beirut, and Cairo's Samia Alouba Fitness Centre.

"This summer, with the new Power-Plates training device, a frenetic social life or work schedule need not be disrupted for regular trips to the gym. Just a ten-minute workout twice or three times a week is all that's necessary," said Nelke Van Aspert, CEO of Power-Plate Middle East.

The equipment utilises vibrations to give the whole body a powerful workout and has already proved a hit in Europe. Users perform various postures and exercises while standing on the vibrating platform and the machine's gentle tremors create increased g-force, causing stretch reflex actions.

"A 30-second static or dynamic posture, such as a squat, lunge, push-up or abdominal crunch, can help users of any fitness level to strengthen, tone and stretch all the body's muscle groups. Three sessions a week on the Power-Plate equipment are equivalent to three hours in the gym," said Van Aspert.
