Landmark decision to roll out Oracle Retail

One of the UAE’s biggest retail conglomerates has deployed the Oracle Retail solution across its 500 outlets. One of the UAE’s biggest retail conglomerates has deployed the Oracle Retail solution across its 500 outlets.

The Landmark Group, which includes in its portfolio brands such as Home Centre, Babyshop, Lifestyle, Splash and Max Electronics, has now become Oracle’s largest retail customer in the Middle East.

It is an existing E-Business Suite customer but has deployed Retail Solution to maximise sales and reduce costs across its outlets and to coordinate merchandise operations between the 12 brands it represents.

Oracle’s Retail Solution will enable the company to more accurately match supply and demand across its warehouses and retail outlets.

“Having achieved greater control over our back office
operations such as financials and human resources functions through our Oracle E-Business Suite, Landmark Group wanted to add a retail industry specific solution that would enable us
to optimise our operations and have a more informed perspective on what we’re selling, where and at what profit, so we can maximise our market reach,” said Vipen Sethi, group director of finance at the Landmark Group.

He said that the Retail solution would support the group’s future expansion, which brings with it the need for larger product lines and expanded warehousing facilities.

“As the Landmark Group continues to grow we increasingly need more sophisticated systems to manage our warehousing, merchandising and inventory for all our outlets, we found the Oracle Retail Supply Chain Planning and
Execution solution to be an ideal fit for us, as it’s designed for large product assortments, multiple warehouse and store environments, and high sales volume organisations,” said Sethi.

“Ultimately, Landmark Group customers are the ones who will benefit as they’ll find the products they want, when and where they need them,” he added.

As well as co-ordinating the group’s supply and demand across its operations the solution will also provide demand planning models that will help the Landmark management to determine which merchandise should be on the shelves in its outlets and at what price.

This the company hopes will give it a competitive advantage by providing a better experience for customers.
