Microsoft has signed a strategic agreement with Jordan-based systems integrator CEB. The deal will see CEB push various Microsoft products to students in Jordan at special prices.

“Microsoft is committed to the education sector, and will be working with its partners in Jordan to create the connected learning community, based on its vision, to enable a community of educators, students and lifelong learners to realise their full potential through the use of Microsoft products,” said Tony Gibrane, education sector manager at Microsoft.

“Microsoft will be working with CEB and the private schools of Jordan, to provide the students with Microsoft products, at the most affordable prices,” he added.

The Microsoft school student option programme allows students at various levels to obtain Microsoft products and applications at a specific price designed specifically for them.

“It is due to the traditional successful history and established business relationship between CEB and the education sector that CEB continues to develop and provide further programmes and products to benefit this very important sector for both facilities and students,” explained Ayman Arafeh, general manager at CEB.

“We have joined with Microsoft to further provide programmes and services that will benefit and add value at the most cost-effective means available,” he added.

CEB, which is part of the Al-Faris National Company for Investment and Export, was the first IT company to list on the Jordan stock exchange. The systems integrator works with a number of major vendors including HP, Acer, Symantec and Oracle.
