Abu Dhabi will get snow slope

Abu Dhabi’s premier retail complex will have its own 100m ski slope by the end of the year.

Abu Dhabi’s premier retail complex will have its own 100m ski slope by the end of the year.

Snoworld, to be located in the Marina Mall, will include a fully equipped ski slope, skating rink and shopping complex.

But no details have been released yet as to when tenders for the construction of Snoworld will go out.

The ski slope will be the second of its kind in the UAE, following the 22,500m² Ski Dubai, located at the Mall of the Emirates on the Sheikh Zayed Road, which is currently the only themed ski resort in the desert.

Marina Mall opened in March 2001, and US $82 million (AED300 million) was spent expanding its size, which now totals 230,000m2 over four levels, in 2005.
