Components distributor eSys has taken the wraps off a brand new service offering designed to combat growing business concerns regarding data loss. eSys’ new eXtract service will offer customers advanced data recovery services for hard drives that crash.

“Every business and organisation can experience a serious incident resulting in data loss, which can prevent it from continuing normal operations,” said Pavan Gupta, EMEA director at eSys. “This can happen any day at any time.”

“The potential causes are many and varied, and prevention is not always possible. However, the eSys eXtract service allows customers to recover valuable data and provides a security blanket in the event of a crash,” he added.

eSys, which distributes 23% of all hard drives sold around the world, is positioning its new eXtract offering as a value-added service for end-users. The company claims that the new service also helps to extend eSys’ storage solution expertise to data recovery and support.

“With data evolving into the most critical strategic business asset, data protection is now uppermost on organisations’ list of priorities. Even so, data loss due to virus attacks or accidental reformatting and deletion is still a fairly regular occurrence, heightening the need for enhanced mechanisms that enable recovery of lost data,” added Gupta.

“eSys’ eXtract service has been launched in response to this growing demand for advanced data retrieval services. eXtract can be used for data recovery from any type of HDD and operating system, and essentially serves as a data safety net,” he continued.

eSys claims that the eXtract data recovery service takes between six and eight days with prices that reflect the extent of damage to the drive and the efforts required to recover lost data. The service will also offer e-mail and telephone hotlines for easy contact.

“eSys is looking to step up activities in the services sector and has shored up its technical capability in order to provide leading edge services to the customer,” explained Gupta. “The launch of eXtract is in keeping with this approach, and we are confident this move will strengthen our market presence in the region.”

“eSys remains focused on introducing new products and services that add value to customers and vendors, and we are looking to foray into multiple business streams within the fast-growing services sector,” concluded Gupta.
