Ad agencies from Beirut and Dubai are leading the charge from the Middle East at this year’s Cannes Lions awards, with Team Y&R topping the list with the highest number of entries.

The Dubai-based agency has entered a total of 34 pieces of work for this year’s event, followed by Leo Burnett Beirut at 29 and Dubai’s Face to Face with 23 entries.

Brandcom, Grey, JWT and Saatchi & Saatchi — all from Dubai — have each submitted 16 entries, while Impact BBDO and TBWA\Raad have put in 10 each.

Meanwhile Leo Burnett Dubai is running a competition for staff, clients and the media today in which 50 commercials submitted for the Cannes Lions awards will be shown and judged. Participants will select 20 films created by agencies across the world, which they think will win a Cannes Lions.
