Kaspersky signs Comguard as Middle East distributor

It is a case of, ‘if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again,’ for Kaspersky Lab. The anti-virus software vendor has named ComGuard as its Middle East distribution partner after an earlier deal signed with Almasa Network Solutions in early 2005 fizzled out.

The latest agreement will see security solutions provider ComGuard take on a value-added distributor role for Kaspersky in the Middle East, selling the vendor’s products through its network of business partners in the region.

Herbert Kamensky, managing director at ComGuard, said: “Since several years we see it as our premier mission in ComGuard to provide our clients with the best state of the art technology to counter security threats. We are sure that with Kaspersky Lab’s comprehensive and easy to use solutions we have selected the optimal protection for our clients.”

Maxim Shirokov, Kaspersky Lab’s business development manager for the Middle East and Africa, added: “We are glad to have signed ComGuard as value-added distributor with its wide reach of channel partners for the Middle East region. The highly skilled staff of our partner will allow us to penetrate the regional market while assuring the quality of the implementations and with it the satisfaction of our clients.”

Kaspersky Lab had signed up Almasa Networking Solutions in early 2005, but the distributor no longer carries the products as part of its portfolio. D.K. Roy, divisional manager at Almasa Network Solutions is currently in talks to extend the range of Symantec products carried.
