Kyocera has launched a new range of monochrome workgroup printers, targeted at the region’s small office-home office (SOHO) market.

The line-up consists of four printers; the FS-2000D, FS-3900DN, FS-4000DN, and the FS-6950DN.

These produce claimed print speeds of 30ppm (page per minute) up to 45 ppm, and offer duplex printing and networking capabilities. Kyocera also claims that all printers in the line-up are environmentally friendly, as they do not emit any ozone harmful chemicals.

The FS-2000 is an A4 printer, which offers a claimed print speed of 30ppm and print resolution of 1200 x 1200dpi. Memory wise, the 2000 offers 64Mbytes of RAM, which can be upgraded to 576Mbytes. Another upgrade available for growing businesses is the network-ready version of the device, the FS-2000DN.

Next up is the firm’s FS-3900 A4 printer, which boasts same specs as its 2000D cousin in terms of memory and print resolution. The 3900 however boasts a 35ppm quoted print speed. Additionally, the FS-3900 offers a 600-sheet paper capacity, which can be increased to 2500 sheets. Support for A6 paper is also included.

Kyocera’s FS4000DN features a PowerPC 500MHz processor and the highest claimed print speed in the line-up of 45 ppm. The FS4000DN boasts 128Mbytes of RAM, which can be upgraded to 640Mbytes. Like the 3900, this model also offers a 2500-sheet paper capacity and A6 paper support.

According to the firm, its last member, the A3 FS-6950DN, is capable of 32ppm using A4 paper and 16ppm using A3. Kyocera reckons this model is best for firms looking for a low-cost A3 printer to print charts, plans and spreadsheets.

Kyocera printers are available through the firm’s regional distributor, Bin Salmeen, which is located in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E - +9712 6733433.
