Huawei chooses Etisalat Academy for regional training

Last year Huawei inaugurated a regional technical assistance centre and training centre in Cairo, aimed at educating partners, customers and sub-contractors of the company’s extensive portfolio of telecoms equipment.

Chinese telecoms vendor Huawei Technologies has appointed Etisalat Academy as its regional training agency for the Gulf and Middle East. The three-year agreement will see the Etisalat Academy instructors train regional engineers on next generation networking technologies offered by Huawei.

“We gladly welcome Etisalat Academy as our regional business partner,” said Wang Jiading, vice president, Huawei Technologies, Middle East and North Africa region. “Next generation networking technology is critical to development of all countries across the region, and we believe that the number of skilled and trained communications engineers is the single most important determining factor in the development of the technology application.

Etisalat said it would be open to consider further cooperation with other vendors, should they be interested in offering technical training to engineers from operators across the region.
