HP has set its sights on the fast-growing market for mobility solutions in the Middle East. The hardware giant has embarked on a Middle East roadshow during which it will demonstrate a slew of new products to partners, retailers and customers. During the events, HP will showcase more than a dozen new products and also push its new worldwide marketing slogan: ‘The computer is personal again’.

HP kick started its road show with an event in Dubai and will also visit Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Jordan before wrapping up the tour in Egypt on June 13th. Anil Gandhi, general manager personal systems group (PSG) at HP Middle East, said: “The world is rapidly moving to a state where information can be accessed anytime, anywhere and on any device. HP is driving this transformation across the entire mobile spectrum — from the devices to software, to support services that deliver mobile content.”

Citing internal research and industry analyst reports, HP estimates that the worldwide mobility market — including notebooks, handhelds, telecommunications, enterprise services and equipment — will grow to more than US$234 billion by 2009.

“Today’s announcement represents another step forward for the region’s consumers, businesses and network service providers who desire a seamless, easy-to-use mobile computing environment,” continued Gandhi.

HP is also unveiling its new Total Care solutions as part of its latest campaign in the Middle East. According to the vendor, HP Total Care encompasses the complete lifecycle of services, tools and options, which provide customers a differentiated and better experience with HP. Total Care will also act as a framework for delivering customised service offerings to channel partners.

HP has introduced five new business notebooks as part of its mobility push. All models are capable of working with Microsoft Vista once the new operating system has been launched. HP is also unveiling its latest iPaq hw6900 model during the event.
