Nokia and Adobe team up to offer video editing pack

Nokia has teamed up with Adobe Systems Incorporated to prepare a new standard sales pack that comprises the former firms’ Nokia N93 mobile phone device and Adobe’s Premiere Elements 2.0 software for Windows XP.

Nokia has teamed up with Adobe Systems Incorporated to prepare a new standard sales pack that comprises the former firms’ Nokia N93 mobile phone device and Adobe’s Premiere Elements 2.0 software for Windows XP.

The inclusion of this Adobe app means that once users have captured video using their Nokia N93 phone, they can transfer this to their desktop or notebook PC and use Premiere Elements (valued at US $99.99) to edit video, burn their shorts and movies to DVD, and even export this content to other formats for web streaming and e-mail.

Featuring DVD-like video capture at 30 frames-per-second (fps), a 3.2-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and 3x optical zoom with video stabilisation, Nokia’s N93 offers users digital camcorder functionality without compromising on mobile phone functionality and ease of use.

“The video capture quality of our new Nokia N93 is so good, we felt that providing users with great, easy-to-use editing and DVD burning software was an absolute must,” said Mike Butler, vice president of solution creation and delivery for multimedia at Nokia. “Thanks to the collaboration with Adobe, we are able to offer people a comprehensive digital imaging and video experience. With Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0, you can easily turn those high-quality video clips captured with Nokia N93 into great home movies. And even better, you can burn them on a DVD to share with friends and family.”

“The rapid proliferation of mobile devices like the Nokia N93 has altered the way consumers capture life events,” added Deborah Whitman, vice president of product management for digital imaging at Adobe. “Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 addresses the need to be nimble and gives people fun options to share high-quality video output just as quickly as they shot it, preserving the spontaneity of the experience.”

Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 software is also included in the standard Nokia N93 sales pack, allowing consumers to fix their high-quality digital photos utilising the larger screen of a compatible PC.

The Nokia N93 – with Adobe’s software - is expected to hit stores here this July, with an estimated (unsubsidized) sales price of approximately US $899.
