Palm Jebel Ali has been merged with the Manhattan-sized Dubai Waterfront project.

The developer has also drafted in consultant TAK to work with Gruzen Samton on the masterplan.

The enlarged scheme was this week presented for approval to Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

“We are working with a new consultant to make sure both projects complement each other more, instead of them being seen as separate,” said Dubai Waterfront chief operating officer, Khaled Al Huraimel.

He added: “Dubai Waterfront Company now includes Palm Jebel Ali. While still a Nakheel subsidiary, it will have its own management team and is a separate entity.”

CW has also learned that dredging and groundworks
for the mammoth project can now get underway following
final approval.
