Jumeirah prepares for celebrity chefs
Chefs from Jumeirah are busy preparing for the arrival of eight celebrity chefs for this month's Festival of Taste.
Chefs from Jumeirah are in the final stages of planning before the arrival of eight celebrity chefs this month.
The Festival of Taste, which will play host to TV and Michelin star chefs from across the globe, including Yannick Alleno, Hans Haas, Sam Leong and Jean-Christophe Novelli, is a five day event with celebrity chefs posted at outlets across the Jumeirah brand.
“All our chefs have been made aware of what is happening and which celebrity chef will be stationed where,” commented Leslie Stronach, resort executive chef, Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
“For our young chefs it is something they can add to their repertoire and something that they can be proud of. For me — and likewise the other executive chefs — we always say ‘the more the merrier’,” he added.
Despite the initial planning of coordinating a time when all the celebrity chefs could attend, the executive chefs have since then, received the menus from the visiting chefs so they can begin sourcing food and prepping each kitchen team.
“It was important for us to get the recipes early so we can source the ingredients. Also, our chefs need to know what they are cooking so they can give 100%. For the visiting chefs we will need to learn their style, but we here to offer them our full support” commented chef Leslie.
Stationed in chef Leslie’s outlets will be Gina Koutropoulos and Ben Sisley from Ping Eatery & Bar in Melbourne, and TV chef, Jean-Christophe Novelli. Visiting Dubai for a second time, Novelli will be stationed in Villa Beach.
“All the chefs that are visiting for the event are fantastic and great at what they do. For me, I am really looking forward to the event and to see what other chefs are doing,” Novelli told Caterer Middle East.
“Whoever comes to Villa Beach can be guaranteed to have a great time. I am very spontaneous so the menu will change; so who knows what I will be creating. But that is the way it should be. I am here to have a great time and to develop and create some great food,” he added.
