HP PSG plans stellar growth

Vendor giant HP is leveraging its valued channel community to ensure that its full range of products and solutions are displayed at this year’s Gitex.

“It is a very channel-centric go-to-market model for HP in Saudi Arabia,” says Anil Gandhi, personal systems group (PSG) general manager at HP Middle East. “We are showcasing our most recent products and solutions with multiple partners to represent our total offering.”

HP has recently added more people to its Saudi Arabian operation taking its headcount in the Kingdom past the 70 mark. The vendor remains committed to building up its in-country resources even further in the market. “I am extremely bullish about the Saudi market,” continues Gandhi. “I see it as our single largest opportunity in the region and as we get more investment dollars, a significant amount of this will go into Saudi Arabia.”

“For 2006, the Kingdom remains the fastest growing market in the region. High oil prices and the government surplus are creating a strong economy and we are witnessing an explosion in consumer demand. If you take a country of 24 million where people want to try new things such as the internet, you get significant growth opportunities,” Gandhi adds.

HP is encouraging Saudi Gitex visitors to ‘go mobile’ with its latest range of consumer notebook PCs. The HP Pavillion dv1000 Series Entertainment Notebook PC converges the experience of home theatre and mobile computing by allowing users to watch movies and listen to music in just seconds, making it an ideal way to enjoy entertainment at home. With the launch of HP QuickPlay, accessing digital entertainment is faster than ever as full system startup is bypassed.

“HP is simplifying the path for Saudi consumers who are eager to add mobility to their lives but wary of the complexity and technical challenges. Together with our partners at the exhibition, we are empowering customers to take full advantage of mobility in ways they've never experienced before and to change the way they do business and how they connect to information, communication and even entertainment,” continues Gandhi.

Additionally, a new desktop PC, assembled from HP's plant in the Kingdom is available for the first time during the Gitex period. The full-featured, and affordably priced HP Compaq dx2200 Business Desktop PC provides business class technology, performance and reliability, making it the ideal business PC for cost conscious business customers in the Kingdom according to HP.
