Lebanese distribution outfit Libanica SA has been named as an authorised training partner for WAN application optimisation vendor Packeteer’s solutions. Libanica, which has Middle East offices in Beirut and Dubai, will train both resellers and end-users on Packeteer’s solutions.

Libanica staff have now completed Packeteer’s instructor certification programme, authorising them to deliver Packeteer Specialist and Packeteer Troubleshooting courses in the Middle East. Libanica is the only distributor to hold this certification level in Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan and the UAE.

“Achieving this status positions us to address increasing customer demand for WAN application optimisation solutions and for engineers needing Packeteer certification in the Middle East,” said Ahmad Shaker, managing director at Libanica.

“Packeteer has been an excellent business partner and we look forward to capitalising on enhanced products and services to come in the future,” added Shaker.

The technical training offers resellers and end-users practical hands-on experience across the vendor’s complete product line. Packeteer runs 25 authorised training centres around the world in conjunction with its partners. Each training partner has to meet specific programme qualification criteria to earn its status.

Arturo Cazares, Packeteer’s VP of sales, added: “Packeteer and Libanica have had a long and successful relationship. We believe their increased investment in more resources to Packeteer will greatly benefit our customers and prospects in the Middle East.”

Libanica has been delivering WAM application optimisation solutions since 1999 and has worked with major clients across a number of verticals including finance, education, government, telecommunications as well as oil and gas.

The company offers customers online and on-site support and same day service. Libanica has now carried out implementations at more than 100 sites spanning 11 countries. The first Libanica training programme for the GCC and Lebanon is scheduled to take place this month.
