As part of its efforts to bring technology into the classroom, ProCurve Networking by HP has announced its partnership with Wellington International School to provide students with a new IT infrastructure aimed at creating a wireless world by providing ‘anytime anywhere access’.

As part of the solution, ProCurve implemented a 10G backbone network infrastructure, delivering Gigabit connectivity to the desktop. With this, Wellington International School will become first school in the Middle East with this facility. Along with a ProCurve wireless solution, students are provided access anytime and anywhere, based on the user’s profile. ProCurve’s Adaptive EDGE Architecture can scale and adapt to future needs of the school as well as maximizes returns on current infrastructure.

Commenting on the implementation of this technology platform, Omar Hussein, ProCurve’s UAE business development manager says: “This reiterates our commitment to the education sector and is testimony to our growing focus of powering students with technology. We are poised to take the education sector to the next level by providing solutions that will bring students closer through proactive networking focused innovation,” he adds.

“The use of ICT has an integral place in the classroom and is a corner stone of one of our core values and forward thinking. Our commitment to continuous improvement includes the ongoing enhancement of learning experience for our students,” says Hugh MacPherson, COO, GEMS. “At GEMS we are committed to providing an education of the highest standard. We have partnered with ProCurve to ensure enhanced efficiency, better utilization of assets and enhanced productivity.”
