Four Seasons opens lucky number seven

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced the official opening of its hotel in Damascus, the seventh property for the chain in the Middle East.

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced the official opening of its hotel in Damascus, the seventh property for the chain in the Middle East.

“Damascus is an historic capital where we are now able to welcome business and leisure travellers alike with a new level of personalised service,” said Wolf Hengst, president, worldwide hotel operations, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

The hotel occupies a prime location within a prestigious mixed-use development in the heart of the city’s commercial and diplomatic district. With interiors designed by Pierre Yves Rochon, the 18-storey structure incorporates a blend of Ottoman, Persian and Syrian influences.

The 297 guest rooms and suites include 12 fully serviced residential apartments, the first in Syria, catering specifically to long-stay guests. The hotel is also home to the city’s first full-service spa, open to both guests and local members.

A total of 1,598m² of meeting and function space, including the largest ballroom in the city, can accommodate a range of events, from large conferences to galas. As well as a dedicated team of conference and meeting staff, Four Seasons offers the first concierge service in Syria.
Another of the group’s Middle Eastern properties, the Four Seasons Hotel Nile Plaza, has received international recognition.

The readers of Travel & Leisure magazine ranked the 365-room hotel number one in Egypt and the Middle East in the publication’s Top 500 awards, which were judged on the quality of service, food and décor.

“This acknowledgement is testament to the outstanding service we provide our guests and the continued dedication of our staff,” said Olivier Masson, general manager at the hotel.
