Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is continuing its rapid Middle East expansion plans with the opening of its latest regional property, the five-star Mövenpick Hotel Sana’a. The 338-room hotel is set to shake up the hotel industry in Yemen, offering a five-star experience, complete with spa and business facilities.
“The Mövenpick Hotel Sana’a is the largest and most exclusive hotel in the city and sets new standards for the hotel industry in Sana’a, reflecting our contribution to the promotion of tourism in the region. Sana’a offers a great deal to both business and leisure travellers, and we look forward to pampering our guests in the spirit of true Swiss hospitality,” said Roger Tannous, general manager, Mövenpick Hotel Sana’a.
“Yemen was one of the few white spots on the map of our expansion into the Middle East,” added Andreas Mattmüller, senior vice president Middle East, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. “Following on from our hotel presence in Aden in the 1990s, we are delighted to return to Yemen with the opening of the Mövenpick Hotel Sana’a. This important step has been facilitated by our excellent partnership with the International Company for Touristic Investments Ltd., the owning company of this hotel.”
The Mövenpick Hotel Sana’a is situated in the newly developed area of Dhahar Hemyer, just minutes from the city centre and close to Sana’a International Airport.
The hotel’s 338 rooms include 39 suites and three executive floors. Dining options include the hotel’s main restaurant, the specialty Moroccan restaurant, Dar Fez or the Al Fresco pool bar.
