Genius Computer Technology (GCT) is giving regional business professionals the chance to dump their business cards and instead store them digitally with its Color Page-BR600 scanner.

The Color Page-BR600 is designed to convert business cards into electronic format. The scanner features name card scanning, language recognition and comes supplied with Cardiris 3.5 BCR software. Using this software, users can simply scan their cards directly to their PC. Once done, Cardiris stores the digital information in a propriety database where users can easily manage their contacts. The database also provides click-able e-mail and web site support.

Cardiris 3.5 supports a number of data formats and recognises cards in fifty languages including English, Japanese, German and Spanish. Support for Arabic however is not present. The software can also be used to synchronise business card information with Outlook, Outlook Express and PDAs.

Aimed at travelling professionals, the BR 600 features a top optical resolution of 600dpi as well as USB connectivity, and is compatible with Microsoft’s Windows 98, 2000, XP and ME operating systems.

Genius’s BR600 is currently selling in stores across the region for approximately $79.
