Windows Awards to be held pre-Gitex

The Windows Middle East Awards, which recognise the very best in home user and SMB computing, have moved. Traditionally held the day before Gitex, the awards will now take place the week before the show at a gala evening event, held at the Fairmont hotel in Dubai on September 21, 2005.

The Windows Middle East Awards, which recognise the very best in home user and SMB computing, have moved.

Traditionally held the day before Gitex, the awards will now take place the week before the show at a gala evening event, held at the Fairmont hotel in Dubai on September 21, 2005.

The move not only recognises the pre-eminence of the region’s most read computer magazine, but also the dramatic growth experienced by the market it serves.

“We are very proud to announce the new date for the Windows Middle East awards,” says Feras Zeidan, publisher of Windows Middle East. “Over the years the awards have become an integral part in the IT industry, with over 200 senior IT professionals attending each year to help us celebrate the very best in home user and SMB computing. We are sure it will be a night to remember.”

Categories this year include multiple awards for printing solutions, software, PCs, notebooks and components. And, for the first time ever, certain awards have been opened up to the public, with readers of Windows Middle East able to vote online for awards such as best photo printer.
