Trade promotion firm Cosmoscape is once again rounding up Malaysia’s finest information technology companies for Gitex.

Last year, the firm filled the Malaysian Pavilion with ten companies, but this year it hopes even more will join in.

“We would certainly expect more to join us this year as Gitex has a regional coverage with visitors and exhibitors from the Middle East, North Africa, Americas, Asia and Europe,” says Cosmoscape’s project director Alan Fung. “Gitex therefore is the best platform for companies wanting a piece of the action in these regions,” he adds.

Fung believes the IT market in the Middle East and North Africa region is set to grow to US$13.4 billion in 2008. As such, he advises Malaysian IT firms to start looking at the region sooner rather than later. “Countries in the Middle East offer tremendous opportunities in terms of growth potential.

Malaysian companies taking part in Gitex should seize this opportunity to be there and tap into the regional market in the Middle East,” he says.

Fung adds that, by taking part in Gitex 2005, Malaysian companies will be able to meet, greet, network and do business in one of the most professional ICT environments in the Middle East and Africa. “This is the platform to meet key industry decision-makers, business professionals, potential partners and clients from the region,” he says. “Gitex 2005 will be the ideal platform for companies to market their products, services and innovations.”
