Syrian radio station automates operations with Netia system

As part of its efforts to automate its operations, Syria’s state radio broadcaster, Ortas, recently deployed a Radio Assist 7 system from Netia. The installation, which includes production and scheduling workstations, playout workstations with AirDDO and two servers with DB-Share as security, will enable Ortas to automate its operations.

An administration workstation uses Netia’s administration software, including the Dynamic Tab, Alarm Manager and the service logger. Additionally, the workstation is equipped with Purge and Archiving tools. “People at Ortas were new to an automated system and in this sense, the installation there was a significant challenge,” says Xavier De Vynck, vice president, business development, Netia.

“They have, however, received the system enthusiastically. It took us a week to install the system and train the end users. Ortas has already undertaken further expansion as part of this project,” adds de Vynck.
